Making a referral as a health or social care professional

Ripples of Compassion supports parents that have experienced the death of a child. We include all parents, including those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of an adult child.

In order to access some of our services, we request that parents have a referral or supporting information from a healthcare professional. This is to add additional safeguards to protect and support the parents when they may be vulnerable and to ensure that we are providing our services to parents at an appropriate time for them.

Who can access bereavement therapy through us?

We do not exclude any bereaved parents from our therapy services. However due to the limited number of spaces we have to prioritise the referrals we receive. We use the following criteria to prioritise our referrals:

  • Parents that have already exhausted other therapy provisions available

  • Parents of oncology children

  • Parents for whom the death of the child is more recent

  • Parents of children under 18

How to refer someone to us for bereavement therapy

Make a referral using our secure online form below.

Some NHS systems may not allow access to our online portal, in which case you can email us to request a copy of our referral form: referral@ripplesofcompassion.com. To send an e-mail securely you will need to send it from an nhs.net account and put ‘[secure]’ in the title of the e-mail.
