Choosing a headstone or memorial can feel deeply important and overwhelming. We want you to have clear guidance, gentle support and, where our partnership and funding allow, help with the agreed cost of your child’s memorial.

A place to remember them
A memorial can offer somewhere to speak your child’s name, bring flowers, mark birthdays and anniversaries, or simply sit quietly. It may become part of how you and the people who love your child continue to include them in family life.
You do not have to make every decision at once and there are lots of different ways you can create a place to remember your child. You might create a memory garden at home, plant a tree, dedicate a bench in their favourite spot or have a headstone where they are laid to rest. We can help for whichever way you choose to remember your child.
If you choose to have a headstone we have a range available from our partners that we can provide the full funding for. If you would prefer to have a different design our guidance takes the process step by step, and our team can help you understand the support currently available.

A lasting memorial: fully funded
Through our partnership with Walsh Memorials and Little Angels, Ripples of Compassion will fund the full cost of an eligible standard headstone for your child.
The standard memorial currently costs £600 plus VAT, and Ripples will pay this amount directly to Walsh Memorials. There is no contribution for your family to make towards this option.
The standard offer includes:
A 17" × 20" × 3" headstone
A standard 3" × 23" × 12" base
A choice of Jet Black, Silver Grey, Regal Grey or Bahama Blue granite
Up to 100 letters of inscription
Bore holes and premium gold or silver flower containers
Standard fixing within 20 miles of one of Walsh Memorials’ participating showrooms
Once Ripples has approved your request, we will introduce you to Walsh Memorials. Their team will then work directly with you to help you choose the granite, inscription and other details for your child’s memorial.
Please do not contact Walsh Memorials before applying. Please complete the Ripples request form first so we can consider your request and guide you through the next steps.
Make your memorial personal to you
Some families may wish to add a patterned design that reflects something meaningful about their child. Walsh Memorials can help you explore available designs and show you how they may look on the finished headstone.
Ripples will still fund the £600 plus VAT standard headstone cost. If you choose to add a patterned design, your family will need to pay the additional £195 plus VAT directly to Walsh Memorials.
You may also choose to upgrade the standard base to a splayed or shaped base. The additional cost of any base upgrade will need to be funded by your family. Walsh Memorials will explain the options and confirm the exact additional cost before you agree to the order.
These additions are entirely optional. Choosing the fully funded standard memorial will not affect the care, dignity or quality with which your child’s headstone is created.
If you would like an upgrade but are worried about meeting the additional cost, Ripples can help you explore fundraising ideas and provide practical resources to help family, friends and your community contribute.
Please begin by completing our Ripples request form. If your request is approved, we will introduce you to Walsh Memorials, who will work with you until the design and wording are finalised.
Choose a special urn for your child
Through our partnership with Urns for Ashes, Ripples of Compassion can fund an urn or scattering tube for your child.
Most of the urns shown in our brochure can be fully funded. Some personalisation choices or optional extras, such as engraving, may require a family contribution. Where this applies, it will be clearly identified in the brochure.
Before completing the request form, please explore the collection and decide which urn you would like, including your preferred size, colour and any personalisation options. You will need to provide these details as part of your request so that we can consider the full cost.
Once your request has been approved, Ripples of Compassion will place the order with Urns for Ashes and pay the agreed funded cost directly. The Urns for Ashes team will create the urn and arrange for it to be delivered directly to your home.
Please do not contact Urns for Ashes or place an order before receiving approval from Ripples of Compassion. Begin by exploring the collection and then complete our request form once you have made your selection.
How to request support
Important: Please read before ordering
Places to Remember funding must be approved by Ripples of Compassion before an order is placed. We cannot normally reimburse memorials that have already been ordered or paid for.
The memorial and installation will also need to meet the rules and permissions of the relevant cemetery or churchyard.
