Practical Support After the Death of a Child
Comfort Meals
One less everyday thing to think about during the earliest days of grief.
After the death of a child, even ordinary tasks such as deciding what to eat, shopping and preparing a meal can feel overwhelming. Our Comfort Meals support provides a COOK e-gift voucher directly to you, giving you the freedom to choose prepared meals when you feel ready.
Our vouchers are available immediately following the death of your child and/or for significant anniversaries or other difficult times in the year.

Why Comfort Meals?
Because grief leaves little space for practical decisions
In the days and weeks after your child dies, you may be managing shock, funeral arrangements, changes to family life and the needs of brothers and sisters—all while trying to understand your own grief.
Difficult days can also come later. Anniversaries, birthdays, special occasions or other significant moments may bring grief to the surface again and make everyday tasks feel overwhelming. You can access a Comfort Meals voucher at one of these times if this is when the support would feel most helpful.
A meal cannot change what has happened. But having something straightforward available can remove one small decision from an impossibly difficult day.
The e-gift voucher allows you to choose the meals that suit you and your family, and to use the support when it feels helpful, rather than receiving food that may not meet your needs.
A practical gesture, offered gently and without expectation.
“The £50 food voucher was such a massive help as it meant I didn’t need to cook for a few days, also I’ve not been able to eat properly since it happened last August so it helped me to try and eat. Thank you so so much.”
